Have I got old news for you

Training/ riding has gone quite well this week, I've manged to get out on the bike three times and even done some "big gear" work and hill climbing to try and get some strength back in to the quads. Sadly I think I've undone the good work by imbibing too much apple juice while watching The Hamsters at Plinston Hall last night

In my "morning after the night before" torpor I came across this old news piece from the glorious Nomads News, dated 2004. It made me chuckle. The course was particuarly dull and I can still recall the shaking of heads at he HQ before and after between Webby and me.

Mike Webb and Simon Doyle ventured east to ride
the Century RC F20/25 on Sunday 4th of July (2004).
With Webb nursing a hangover and Doyle suffering
from the side effects of taking antibiotics whilst
using Stella Artois to wash them down the night
before, neither rider expected much. They were
duly rewarded with gusty conditions and rolling
roads on the circuitous cum tortuously boring route
from Great Amwell to Turnford (times two) on the
A10. Doyle recorded 1.01.43 and Webb 1.00.17.
Both riders enjoyed the cake at the HQ but very
little else.
